Project Lead the Way

3rd graders build gliders
Dalton third graders built gliders as part of a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) unit, and launched them "on a rescue mission to deliver supplies for victims of a hurricane."

Railroad Safety

The train is a wonderful resource for our community.  But I want to remind families to obey all railroad rules and warnings to ensure safe travel for our students.  The train runs just south of the school, and I want all students to be very careful when walking or riding bikes near the tracks.

STEM in Kindergarten

Dalton Principal's Father as Keynote

The Dalton Principal's father, Robert Holman, spoke at the Veteran's Day ceremony.  He is a Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.  He also shared more information in classrooms, which included a quiz with prizes!

Two Dalton Future Astronauts Toured JPL

Osiris and Naomi Razo, two students who will likely represent the US in space in the future, toured NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.

Community Partnerships Pay Off!

Dalton students are scientists and have fun in the process!  APU students, under the direction of Dr. Tallman, taught Dalton scholars about the circulatory system in a variety of ways, including walking through a giant replica heart "map," checking heart rates before and after exercise and dissecting a real sheep heart.
